March 11—Solvang, California

A popular training destination of professional cyclists, the 35th-annual Solvang Century takes cyclists through the scenic countryside of Santa Barbara County. The race starts and finishes at the Hotel Corque in the Danish-inspired downtown and features a post-ride festival that includes a BBQ lunch, massage, live music and a beer garden. In addition to the 100-mile event, shorter routes of 70 and 50 miles are also options.

I was surprised not to see maybe one of the rides like the Seattle to Portland (one or two days, 206 miles), the RAMROD (Ride Around Mt. Rainier in One Day), or the Triple Bypass…

Biggest point – look around your general location; there are epic rides everywhere!
